23 year old lady with 290cc PIP implants in place since 2008. The PIP implants were removed and noted to be intact with gel bleed. They were replaced after capsulectomy with Allergan High Profile 375cc TSX implants on both sides. We performed over 400 removal and replacement of PIP implants in the 18 months following January 2011. We have noted a high rupture rate of 24% and also that the dimensions of PIP implants are larger than equivalent cc implants in the Nagor or Allergan ranges. Hence to achieve a similar size and shape bust a larger Allergan or Nagor implant needs to be used as in this case.
