Unfortunately counter to the previous comment, PIP implants were used by some very high profile companies who people did pay higher than average prices to have surgery with, they were certainly not only used by clinics offering cut price bargain boob jobs. They took the oportunity to use these cheaper implants while telling their patients that they were the best on the market so that they could make an even larger profit. It was lies and blatant miss-selling that they contently used to make more and more money.

The one point that does need to be learnt from is that there is a difference between quality of implants and people need to ask what implants they will be getting and research to ensure that all you’ve been told about them is true. It just never occurred to people that big high profile companies would ever use substandard implants but they will not be trusted in that way again after this I hope.

I’d like to give my thanks to Aurora Clinics for helping so many of us and for caring when we’ve been left high and dry by both the clinics responsible and by the government. I very much look forward to my consultation appointment with yourselves and am making the trip from Swansea because we think it’s worth it to go with a company you feel you can trust after having been through all this.

Whilst the battle of who should pick up the bill for replacing PIP implants continues, perhaps this is a key time to educate women on breast implants and get them to question HOW clinics can offer ‘cut price’ surgery. If the price is too good to be true it usually means quality of both surgery and prosthesis used are sub standard.
Having used Aurora Clinics and fortunate to have Mr Richards as my surgeon it is very reassuring to know that I made an informed choice based on the quality of information, consultation and service and not price.
