What are lip implants made from?
Permalip implants are made from soft, contoured silicone that mimics the natural texture and shape of the lip. They have a smooth surface, designed to minimise any irritation to the surrounding lip tissue, and come in a wide variety of widths and lengths, so that whatever look you’d like to achieve (within reason), it’s possible.
What does the Permalip implant procedure involve?
As a relatively minor procedure, permanent lip enhancement is carried out under local anaesthetic, with you awake the entire time. Your chosen implants will be carefully inserted into your lips via tiny incisions concealed in the corners of your mouth.
The whole process will be completed in around 30 minutes – which means in theory, you could treat yourself to new lips in your lunch break!
You will experience some swelling in the 1-2 weeks after treatment. When the swelling subsides, you will be left with fuller lips that feel and look completely normal.
As the name suggests, Permalip implants offer a permanent result, but they can be replaced with a different size if required, or removed should you change your mind.
Who makes a good candidate for lip implants?
Permalip enhancement is suitable for anyone who would like permanently fuller lips, whether they were born with thinner lips or have lost volume with age.
Implants can be used in both lips if enhancement of the whole mouth is required, or alternatively just one lip to correct asymmetry between the upper and lower lips.
What won’t Permalip do?
Permalip implants are designed to offer a subtle increase in fullness, and produce a very natural result, so they won’t give you the “trout pout” look you may have seen on certain celebrities – which can only be a good thing!
