Debbie Tells Her Story

Hello. My name is Adrian Richards. I’m a plastic and cosmetic surgeon and Surgical Director of Aurora Clinics which is based here in the United Kingdom. In this short video, we’re going to be hearing from Debbie who had a breast enlargement procedure performed by myself eight weeks ago. Debbie’s going to talk about her reasons for having the procedure and telling us how she got on with it.

Debbie:            Well, I’ve always had a small chest right from as early as I can remember. I used to get called names at school. The names didn’t really stop. Even when I was an adult, people would call me flat-chested. You think children can be cruel, but it hurts just as much when you’re an adult. When I was pregnant with my children, obviously I had a really nice chest and I enjoyed it. But unfortunately, they quickly disappeared after I had them. And it just got to the point where I thought, “I’m going to do something about this.” And it’s the best thing I’ve ever done.

Q:            Good. Tell us about the operation.

Debbie:            I was so excited that they had to give me something to calm me down. I was just jumping up and down in the room. I was like Tigger. I was so looking forward to it because I’d been thinking about it for so long. The hospital were fantastic; really, really good. Made you feel relaxed. Went down for the operation and obviously that was it. I was out for the count, came round, and I was in no pain whatsoever. The entire time I was in the hospital I didn’t have to ask for any painkillers. No pain. Quite a lot of pain when I got home, obviously when the anaesthetic and everything wore off, but it was manageable with the painkillers. I think the swelling was the worst thing. One was more swollen than the other which apparently is quite normal. But I think the swelling, and then the itching when obviously all the nerve endings are coming in. The itching can be quite bad. But E45 is brilliant. Takes the itch away.

Q:            Excellent. And was there much bruising or . . .

Debbie:            I didn’t have any bruising whatsoever. The scar was tiny. I couldn’t believe how small the scar was. Really small.

Q:            Excellent. And what size are you now? What were you before?

Debbie:            I was a 34A. I’m now a 36C.

Q:             Excellent.

So thanks very much for taking the time to watch the video which I hope you found useful. A big thank you to Debbie for allowing us to record her today. So again, thanks for watching the video. If you’d like any more information about breast augmentation surgery, we have a lot of photos on the website, videos of me actually performing the surgery, and other testimonials of people who’ve had the procedure and also a lot of information videos just on the different types of implants – under or over muscle, those sort of issues.
