This video is of a mole removal procedure at Aurora Clinics. Our patient was born with a mole situated above her eyebrow. Mr Richards will be using a technique to remove the mole, using an incision shaped like a “T”. We can clearly see the markings around the mole, and this is where Mr Richards will be making his cuts to remove it. The vertical part of the T shaped scar will be noticable after surgery, but the horizontal part will be nicely hidden within the patient’s eyebrow.

After the mole is removed, the skin on either side is bought in, and closed up to create the T shaped scar. It is sticthed up with deep stitches which will be removed at her follow up after a week. The surgery was performed under a local anaesthetic and took between twenty minutes and half an hour to complete.
