Facelift Surgery (Rhytidectomy)

The facelift (also spelt 'face lift' and scientifically known as a rhytidectomy) is one of the most popular cosmetic surgery procedures in the UK today. Thanks to growing media publicity about celebrities who have had the procedure, many patients are familiar with the concept of face lift surgery and now consider it an option as they get older and their face begins to lose its youthful shape.

Adrian Richards:         How are you feeling?

Enis:                            Nervous. How do I look. Oh, wow.  I have normal ears.

Adrian Richards:         Should we get his mum in ?

Enis:                            Fascinating!

Adrian Richards:         Tell us what you think. We’re going to get your mum in just to have a quick look as well.

Enis:                            She’s going to scream.

Adrian Richards:         Good.

Enis:                            That’s unbelievable.

Adrian Richards:         Do you want to come and have a look at his ears?

Mother:                       Oh my goodness. That’s amazing. I have a normal son.

Enis:                            I know.

Adrian Richards:         Do you want to come and have a look at them?

Mother:                       Oh wow.

Enis:                            See the bit off my ear.

Mother:                       What?

Adrian Richards:         This is the bit we . . . we just cut a bit here.

Mother:                       Going to take a photo of that Enis.

Adrian Richards:         Do you want a photo of that?

Mother:                       Yeah, I think we should.

Enis:                            It’s unreal.

Mother:                       That’s, I want to say it again. Oh my goodness.

Enis:                            If I embarrass you, would you [inaudible 1:01]?

Adrian Richards:         So do you want to look at the other one as well? See what you think.

Enis:                            Look at the other one.

Mother:                       Yeah.

Enis:                            Perfect isn’t it?

Mother:                       It’s amazing.

Enis:                            It’s crazy.

Mother:                       Don’t do it again Enis. He can’t anyway. He said that to me.

Adrian Richards:         He can’t anyway.

Mother:                       That’s really, really good. Thank you.

Adrian Richards:         He’s been telling us all about you.

Mother:                       Has he? I’ve been smoking all the way through it.

Question:                    So you have just finished your operation. How did it go?

Enis:                            It was very interesting I must say. Me personally, I don’t like injections. The only bad part was the injection to numb the ear. Other than that, I could hear everything that was happening, but I couldn’t feel anything obviously. So it was really weird, but it was fascinating.

Question:                    How do you feel about the final product?

Enis:                            I’m gob smacked! They look perfect again. The shape and everything is good.

Question:                    How was your experience with the Aurora staff?

Enis:                            They were friendly. They were great. We were just chatting the whole way. So I really felt comfortable, and it was all fine.

Question:                    Any advice for viewers out there planning on stretching their earlobes?

Enis:                            Think about what you’re doing. It could affect you long term, so it might not be the best option.
