Who will perform my surgery?
At Aurora, the surgeon you consult with, who will be the most appropriate expert for your particular needs, will also be the surgeon who carries out the procedure. All of the surgeons are specialists in plastic surgery and registered on the specialist register at the GMC.
Why do you have two consultations before
surgery when other practices only offer one?
To ensure we can deliver the best possible results in line with patient expectations. The decision to undergo cosmetic surgery is a very personal one and often driven by a mixture of motivations. Two consultations ensure that the patient and surgeon are in full agreement of the issues, expectations and procedures.
What happens after surgery?
Following your discharge from hospital you will have a post operative consultation and the necessary contact with your surgeon. Our Patient Care Advisors will also be available and will take a pro-active interest in your full recuperation. In the case of breast implants it is our policy to arrange yearly checkups to ensure your continued well being. There is no charge for these. |

Do I need to be referred by my GP?
It is not necessary to obtain a referral
from your GP.
However it is always good practise and we do
advise that they should be informed of any surgical treatment you undergo to ensure your medical history is kept up to date. This is something we can do for you following your procedure. However it is your own personal choice. In certain circumstances and prior to surgery, it may be absolutely necessary to contact your GP and/or other medical specialist that you have previously consulted. This is purely for your own medical safety and you will
be advised of this.
How much will it cost?
Exact costs can only be determined following consultation as exact procedures can differ from patient to patient. However we can offer a guide cost following a discussion with a Patient Care Advisor.
What will the cost include?
The price will include all general pre operative screening, your hospital stay, surgical and anaesthetic fees, post-operative care as deemed necessary including follow up appointments with your surgeon or nurse. |

Is finance available?
Yes this can be arranged for you. Please contact a Patient Care Advisor for further information.
Where will the surgery or procedure be
carried out?
We operate from a number of premier hospitals and clinics around the London and the Midshires. Please see the locations page for further details.
Who will my
anaesthetist be?
The anaesthetist is of course a vital part of the surgical team: that’s why Aurora
only use Consultant Anaesthetists. Click here to download a guide
explaining all the issues about anaesthetics.
What if I am not happy with the results?
At Aurora we make every effort to ensure that the agreed expectations
and goals of surgery or other treatment are realistic and achievable.
If within a year of treatment, you and your surgeon agree that the
results are not in line with expectations, accepting normal surgical
limits, then any additional surgery necessary to deliver the results
originally agreed, will be carried out free of charge. Please contact
a Patient Care Advisor to discuss the full terms of this guarantee.
