Cosmetic Surgery latest: the toe job to combat “toe-besity”

Just when you thought you’d heard it all, another cosmetic surgery procedure comes along and surprises you.

With summer finally here (and the rain about to go away, we hope), it’s time to think about dusting off those flip flops and sandals. But if you’re unhappy with the appearance of your feet, you might be glad to hear about the latest procedure gaining popularity in America.

Dr Oliver Zong, surgical director of a New York podiatry firm, started his practice 10 years ago, and though he had always carried out cosmetic work on the toes – making them shorter for people unhappy with their length – now he is specialising more and more in surgery to reduce their width.

The procedure involves shaving off fat and bone to give toes a slimmer, more streamlined appearance, and is proving popular with both men and women.

In response to criticism of the procedure, Dr Zong says that he believes toe surgery is no different to any other cosmetic procedure. He is simply helping people to fix something they are embarrassed about, and increasing their self-esteem.

Aurora Clinics don’t (yet) offer surgery to combat toe-besity, but we do offer a wide range of alternative cosmetic surgery procedures. If there’s something that’s bothering you, and you’d like to talk to us in confidence, call our friendly team on 01324 578290 or drop us an email to mailto:info@aurora-clinics.co.uk.
