We would like to wish you all a happy & healthy New Year.
Now the Christmas festivities are over, most of us are looking at ways to improve how we look and feel. Your skin is a great starting point, as great skin makes you instantly look younger and healthier. This month’s newsletter focuses on how we can help you achieve a more youthful look.
Why Aurora and not a beauty salon
Aurora Clinics are based within the BMI Healthcare group, who are the largest independent provider of acute surgical procedures. They have been at the forefront of the drive to improve clinical and non-clinical service standards across the independent sector, calling for and contributing to new regulation that was introduced in 2002. This means you can be assured we follow their standard for quality and we take pride in the service we provide to our customers – how many beauty salons can offer you this assurance?
Botox & Fillers – put yourself in safe hands
A lot of people can be wary of cosmetic injections and question their safety. The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons warned cosmetic surgery patients to check the credentials of people offering procedures carefully or risk suffering at the hands of untrained providers. So how do you know you are going to the right person. At Aurora we specialize in anti-ageing treatments which include Botox and Filler injections.
At our Northampton Clinic at the Gatehouse we have Aggie Oakley who specializes in Fillers and non-surgical treatments. Aggie developed the Plastic Surgery at the Three Shires Hospital and went on to Manage Aurora at the Gatehouse clinic where she currently runs pre and post-operative care for all patients, breast sizing appointments and assists Mr Richards in theatre. Aggie has been Senior Clinical Manager with Aurora for 5.5 years now. For Botox injections we have Adrian Richards, a leading Plastic Surgeon. Mr Richards was the lead investigator in recent clinical research into the use of Botulinum Toxin A (Botox) for cosmetic purposes. He was named 'The Botox Expert' in the Evening Standard's 'Harley Street Heroes'
At our Princes Risborough Clinic at The Paddocks we have Libby Stewart who trained as a nurse in Newport in 1980. After qualifying she specialized in operating theatre work.
After some years in the field of plastic surgery she extended her interest to working in cosmetic surgery. It was a natural progression to then train in the use of non-surgical rejuvenating and anti-ageing treatments to either enhance the results of surgical operations or as independent procedures.
Libby now covers the certified administration of Botox.
You can’t get better than that!
Red Vein, Skin Tags and Millia Removal at The Paddocks
We are now using the new and advanced Apilus machine! It uses themolysis to remove the red veins and the computerised machine gives us pinpoint precision, a more comfortable treatment and rapid results. It cauterizes the vessel to remove all vascular (blood) blemishes on the skin. These include facial red veins, spider naevi and blood spots.
In many cases only 1 treatment is necessary to achieve permanent results; however any further treatments are offered at a discounted price.
The Apilus also removes skin tags (small round fiborous tissue that protrudes usually on the neck area, underarm and in common areas of friction) and millia (small hard white lumps that usually appear around the eye area).
It is important to be aware that the area treated will look slightly worse for 7-10 days before looking better – so plan any important dates around the procedure!
