Full Facelift and Neck Lift (Cervicoplasty or Platysmaplasty)

A full facelift and a necklift can be referred to as a cervicoplasty or a platysmaplasty.
A Face and Neck lift uses many of the qualities from a Full Facelift. The incision is behind the ear in the hairline going up to the temple and the skin is pulled and stretched with the excess being trimmed away. This surgery will smoothen the appearance of the face, and tightening the skin giving a more youthful look. Loose excess skin in the neck is also treated, and it can be treated using the technique of a MACS facelift leaving you with shorter scars and a faster recovery time.
Deep wrinkles, sun damaged skin and bags from under the eyes are all issues that can not be resolved by a facelift. We do offer solutions for these three examples. Blepharoplasty, which is eyelid surgery can remove the bags from under your eyes, which is, and commonly is done in conjunction with a facelift.
It can take between 2-4 hours to complete, performed under general anaesthetic and will probably involve a two night hospital stay.
The healing process will be between 3-6 weeks, involving bandages wrapped around your face for around a week. Regular follow up consultations will provide you with specific aftercare information and advice, which is tailored specifically to you. The results should last around 10 years, although depending on your lifestyle it could be shorter, or longer. Also the natural elasticity of your skin will play a factor, so the results usually differ from patient to patient.
