Mr. Prashant Govilkar joined the Aurora Team of Plastic & Cosmetic Surgeons in March 2010. Following his graduation in Medicine and Surgery from the Grant Medical College & The J.J Group of Hospitals, Bombay, and after completion of training in General surgery, he completed higher surgical training in Plastic & Reconstructive surgery at the J.J Group of Hospitals and the LTMMG Hospitals, two of the largest teaching hospitals in Bombay,India.

Mr Govilkar obtained the MCh.(Plastic Surgery) degree and undertook a Microsurgery training fellowship in Brescia,Italy.

Later, he was awarded the British Association of Plastic Surgeons fellowship for advanced microsurgical training at the Canniesburn Hospital,Glasgow and went on to undertake specialist training in Hand surgery & Microsurgical Breast reconstruction in the U.K. After completion of plastic surgical training in the U.K. he was awarded the fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Plastic Surgery

Mr Prashant Govilkar entered in the specialist register in plastic surgery of the General Medical Council (reg.no. 4258041).

His specialist areas and qualifications are in Hand surgery with the European Diploma in Hand surgery awarded by the Federation of European Societies for Hand Surgery and has undertaken specialist training in aesthetic surgery and breast reconstruction both in the UK(East Grinstead) and the USA( Cleveland,Ohio & Charleston,South Carolina).He maintains a strong enthusiasm for academic activities and has presented and authored in excess 15 papers in peer reviewed Plastic & Reconstructive surgery journals. He is on the review panel of the Indian journal of Plastic Surgery and is a Royal college assessor for post graduate trainees in the ICPS curriculum.

In addition to providing a comprehensive reconstructive service in hand & wrist surgery (trauma & elective) and breast surgery (both cosmetic & reconstructive) his areas of special interest include post bariatric body contouring surgery (body lift surgery) microsurgical reconstructive surgery and facial cosmetic surgery.
