|
| What is it? |
- This procedure involves the use of surgical thread called gold filaments or gold wire, inserted just below the skin's surface to improve it's quality, firmness and elasticity.
- This method has been in use across Europe for more than a decade, although the use of pure gold as an implant goes all the way back to ancient Egyptian times.
- The invisible gold wires give both mechanical support and trigger production of collagen and elastin fibres around the thread. New blood vessels appear in the area and the skin becomes supple firmer and thicker, with better blood supply.
|
| What is Involved? |
- Under local anaesthetic and lasting no more than 1-2 hours, a cosmetic doctor uses gold filaments to create a 'net-like' structure just under the skin's surface. The threads are invisible and do not leave any external scarring.
|
| Things to be aware of? |
- Any initial bruising and swelling is temporary and will normally settle within 2 weeks. Some people may experience a slight pin prick sensation, which can be resolved by massaging the area
|
| Results |
- Firmness of the skin will eventually become less apparent, but gold filaments can effective for 5-10 years.
