Why do people want face surgery?

For an older person it is usually combined with a face lift to tighten loose skin in order to obtain the best results.

• Eyebrow lift - Face surgery which involves elevating the eyebrows and trimming underlying muscles at the same time to reduce frown lines. It can also be used as a treatment for headaches caused by excess muscle contraction.

• Eyelid correction – Excess skin and puffiness is removed from upper and lower eyelids. Drooping eyelids can be corrected and the skin below the eyes tightened.

• Nose reshaping – A procedure used to resize or reshape the nose. It is a common cosmetic procedure and is also frequently used after injuries or to help with medical conditions such as breathing difficulties.

• Prominent ear correction - Ear correction surgery is used with both children and adults to re-set the position of prominent ears. This may help to raise self esteem. Surgery can also be carried out on ear lobes, for example if they have been stretched by piercings. Surgery can take place under local or general anaesthetic.

• Removal of moles or cysts - Moles are generally harmless, but they are sometimes unsightly, especially on the face. Cysts are blocked skin ducts that tend to enlarge over time and may occasionally become infected. Both moles and cysts can be removed with face surgery procedures.
