Ethel Discusses Her Breast Implant Op 5 Post Later
Adrian Richards
Hello. My name is Adrian Richards. I’m a plastic and cosmetic surgeon. In this video, we’re going to be hearing from a patient who recently underwent a bilateral breast augmentation under my care. She’s now five weeks after the operation, and she’s kindly agreed to discuss her reasons for having the operation, how she’s got on, and her results. I hope you enjoy the video. Thanks for watching.
Ethel, Patient
Hi. My name is Ethel. I had my breast augmentation surgery five weeks ago. Just want to give you some information. Basically a fantastic surgery if you ever need to boost your self-esteem. Relationship-wise, emotional-wise, it’s just brilliant. I found Mr. Richards because I was looking for a surgeon that is BAAPS registered, basically just to know that I was in the best serviced hands and that if anything was going to go wrong, which could possibly because I have a very poor immune system, that I’d have the best possible aftercare.
Mr. Richards was fantastic. Saw me really, really soon. Reassured me about everything. It was a quick check-up. All the assistants, all the people that work at Mr. Richards’ surgery were fantastic. It was really quick. The decision was made really, really quickly because I felt quite confident after seeing Mr. Richards. I made the necessary arrangements. They also assist you financially. If you need to apply for a BMI Card, they help you with everything like that. So I didn’t have any financial issues.
Very easy, booked the surgery. Everything post-surgery was brilliant because I’m very nervous, very scared of anaesthetic. They used the best anaesthetist in the world. Really brilliant, comfortable. They put anaesthetic on your hands before they put the needles in because I was petrified of the needles. That didn’t hurt. So everything really, really quick. Fantastic, fantastic hospital afterwards. Very clean. Professional staff. Made me feel at home. The food was even good. So, the hospital was really easy.
I got discharged a day after with fantastic painkillers that helped a lot. The first two days at home were quite painful because I didn’t really know what to expect. It’s different with people. My left breast didn’t hurt at all at any stage, but my right breast did because the nerve endings are different in the breasts, etc. So I did phone immediately, got help and said, “Use a different painkiller, just stick to the hours, and maybe switch the type of bra that you’re wearing.” I listened to all their advice and within two hours, it was brilliant. It was done. It was sorted. No more pain. So I was quite fortunate. Not a lot of swelling.
Basically, the sports bra that I came out with I’m still the same size five weeks later, so very happy with that. Just back to normal. Scarring I’m using Bio-Oil so there’s no itching. My plasters are off, and the scars almost look like they’re gone already. It could be different with people, but I’m very fortunate because it was obviously a good job and like my husband says the lines are very, very thin where they were made. So you’re not left with scarring that you will ever see, not to the naked eye, even people looking straight at you wearing a bathing suit or anything. I didn’t have any bruising. A lot of people do have bruising. I didn’t have any bruising, no blue or black marks or anything like that. My life is back to normal five weeks later.
