Can I use a Niplette as a non-surgical alternative to Inverted Nipple Correction?

Question:Your Questions Answered by the Surgeons at Aurora Clinics

Since reading the comprehensive information available on your website, I believe that my fiancé has a Grade 1 inverted nipple.

We have ruled out having surgery but would very much like to buy a Niplette suction device. Could you please tell us where we could purchase one?

Answer:

The Niplette is a suction device for inverted nipple correction of only minor inverted nipples. It is a discreet, plastic cup which you place over your nipple.

The supplied syringe is used to suction out air then the plastic cup is left in place over the nipple.  This cup can be worn inside your bra day or night and over time gradually stretches the skin of the nipple and the underlying milk ducts in order to allow full eversion of the nipple.

At Aurora Clinics we always recommend trying the Niplette suction device  first before inverted nipple correction surgery. This is because it is non-invasive and allows you to retain the ability to breastfeed.

Our inverted nipple correction surgery, although it provides an excellent cosmetic improvement, will generally impair your ability to breastfeed. It is possible to buy a Nipplete from Boots or the Advent website.
