Surgeon's comment

Lady who had small split in her earlobe following a piercing low in her earlobe and wearing heavy earrings. Piercings low in the earlobe are more likely to split. In addition people with small or relatively delicate earlobes are more likely to have splits from wearing earrings.

The earlobe was repaired using the Aurora technique removing the skin on either edges of the split. The picture is taken immediately following surgery showing retention of the natural shape of the earlobe. Skin stitching was performed with absorbable stitches which melt in the weeks following surgery and do not need to be removed.

Our specialist team can give you advice on re-piercing the your earlobe and our specialist nurses can perform this for you in the correct location if you so wish.
