Our expert Plastic Surgeon Adrian Richards is the Medical Director for The Private Clinic. Clinics are located in Birmingham, Bristol, Buckinghamshire, Glasgow, London Harley Street, Leeds, Manchester and Northampton.
We continue on with the video, as Mr. Richards removes the excess lobe, and stitches up the area. All the time he is talking to the patient, trying to take his mind off what is actually happening. The patient is completely aware of everything that is happening, as he has only had local anaesthetic. He can feel the tugging of the cutting on the earlobe, but feel no pain whatsoever.
The strangest sensation throughout the procedure will be the noise, as it is all happening to the ear, every cut and cauterised blood vessel will be heard by our patient.
During the course of this 3 part surgery series, we will see the full procedure, from marking up, to the final stitches, and cleaning up of the area. In total it lasts around 23 minutes, so our patient was in and out within half an hour.
