New surgical video – ‘Tribal Ear’ Correction
It’s one of our more obscure procedures, but one that is growing in popularity all the time due to changing fashions – earlobe repair, or ‘Tribal Ear’ correction.
In the video, we meet 21-year-old Enis as he undergoes his surgery. He had just removed the circular ear ‘plugs’ he had been using to stretch his earlobes, and came to Aurora Clinics seeking to get the resulting hole repaired.
He was struggling to find a suitable job, and his aim with the surgery was to improve his employment prospects.
The surgery is carried out under local anaesthetic, rather than general. This means Enis is conscious and able to talk to surgeon Adrian Richards throughout the procedure.
