Projected increase of 9% in Cosmetic Surgery this year

Cosmetic surgery patientMarket analysts Key Note have delivered their forecasts for the plastic surgery industry, with estimates that it will increase in value from last year by 9%, from £711 million to £775 million.

This includes both invasive and non-invasive cosmetic procedures. These figures show that the industry continues to grow with a continually increasing demand from consumers.

There was a similar increase of 10.1% between 2010 and 2011. Although the most popular surgeries of 2012 have not yet been revealed, they may follow a similar pattern from last year where nose surgeries witnessed the biggest rise; an increase in number of surgeries of 7.4%.

Another notable increase was the number of tummy tucks being sought. Meanwhile breast enhancements remained the most popular procedure, accounting for over 23% of all treatments.

Cosmetic surgery remains most popular with women, with the increase in number of women and men seeking surgery growing at a similar pace as the year before.
