Consultant Plastic Surgeon
Mr Bhagwat Mathur qualified in India in 1979 and completed his postgraduate training in Plastic Surgery in 1988. He has trained as a specialist registrar at the Canniesburn unit in Glasgow, and as a Breast and Mircosurgery fellow at St Andrew’s Centre Chelmsford with world leaders in the speciality.
Mr Mathur has worked as a consultant in India, Saudi Arabia, Glasgow and Swansea, and is now based at Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford working as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon.
Mr Mathur has specialised in Breast, Head and Neck Surgery and Mircosurgical reconstructions within cosmetic surgery. He sits on the breast cancer MDT in Harlow, Chelmsford, Ipswich and West Sussex providing breast reconstruction and skin cancer reconstruction. Mr Mathur also has extensive experience in performing follicular unit hair transplants, completing his training in India and Saudi Arabia. He provides this service within the NHS for burns and scar alopecia patients.
Mr Mathur is on GMC’s Specialist Register, is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is a full member of BAPRAS (British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons).
In his spare time, Mr Mathur enjoys teaching faculty on various national and international courses and participates in workshops on breast cancer reconstruction and aesthetic surgery.
