How do I choose a good Rhinoplasty surgeon (nose reshaping surgeon)?

Rhinoplasty (nose reshaping) is a particularly technical challenge for surgeons. This is because the nose is essential to the face and very visible and any fine alterations or abnormalities will be very visible.

Some surgeons specialise in rhinoplasty surgery and some choose not to perform this procedure. For example, several of our surgeons including Adrian Richards do not perform rhinoplasty operations and refer patients to colleagues who do specialise in this treatment.

The reason for this is that you are likely to get a better result from your rhinoplasty by a surgeon who specialises in this field. When consulting with your surgeon about possible rhinoplasty, it is very important to ask them whether they concentrate in this field, and if so, how many procedures per year they perform.

A good number of rhinoplasty procedures would be over 40, which would equate roughly to 1 per working week for most surgeons.

If the number of rhinoplasties the surgeon performs is less than 40, think carefully about possibly scheduling a further consultation with other surgeons who specialise in the rhinoplasty field.

As with anything in life, the more you practice anything the better you are likely to get – the same principle applies to plastic surgeons.
