Here we are in another episode of our breast enlargement FAQ series. This question is all about work, and when you can return following the surgery. To be honest, it is quite difficult to say outright, as this really does depend on what you do as a job, and the activities you usually do in that job. It also depends on the technique used for surgery, and whether the implants were placed in front or behind the muscle.

If your job involves carrying and heavy lifting or lifting at all really, then you will need a longer period off work than someone who sits at a desk, sitting pretty still all day. Everyone heals differently, and you will heal faster if you rest more immediately after your surgery. We find patients will be back to their regular activities quicker if they are looked after by a friend, relative or partner. Depending on how you feel within yourself, and of course your job, it is really up to you when you go back, but you will receive advice from your surgeon in your follow up consultations.
