DIEP Flap Breast Reconstruction is a long procedure and extremely complex. It usually lasts around 8 hours with a high end plastic surgeon, but can take a lot longer due to complications and its complexity. The process is to rebuild a breast following a mastectomy using your own body tissue. This is traditionally taken from the stomach area, which means the procedure combines itself with an abdominoplasty.
