Will Breast Reduction & Uplift without implants cause saggy boobs?

Breast Reduction Question:Your Questions Answered by the Surgeons at Aurora Clinics

Dear Aurora Clinics, I am considering breast reduction surgery and a breast uplift but am currently breastfeeding my baby. How long after breastfeeding will I have to wait before I can undergo surgery and how quickly after a consultation can you fit me in?

Will breast reduction surgery result in firmer breast tissue to lift my bust line or will I require implants to achieve this?

If I have a reduction but no implants, is there a likelihood that my breasts will droop? I am currently an F cup size due to pregnancy so I would be looking to achieve a C/D cup afterwards.

Breast Reduction Answer:

Generally we recommend that you stop breastfeeding for at least three months before considering any type of breast surgery.

If you would like to come to us for an initial consultation, however, we would be happy to discuss the pros and cons of different surgical techniques available. This will give you an idea of the results you can expect to achieve following surgery when you are ready.

From your description it sounds as though a breast reduction combined with breast uplift surgery may be the ideal solution to reduce your bust from an F cup to a C/D cup.

Combined with the natural shrinkage in your bust over the 3 months following stopping breastfeeding, this should not result in drooping without an implant as there are certain techniques which can achieve good results.

This would need assessing, however, on a case-by-case basis and depends on your natural size when you are not pregnant, coupled with the skin/tissue composition of your breasts.

All of this can be assessed and discussed with you during your consultation. In the meantime it may be worth taking a look at our website. In particular, you should listen to our free information CD on Breast Reduction Surgery. We would be happy to send a copy through the post so as you can listen in the comfort of your own home.

Should you wish to book a consultation to discuss this surgery in more detail, please call our office on 01324 578290. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Best Wishes,
