MACS Facelift – can I have one under local anaesthetic?

MACS Facelift question:Your Questions Answered by the Surgeons at Aurora Clinics

Hi, can upper eyelids be done under local anaesthetic, and also the MACS facelift? I am interested in these two procedures but have a fear of going under general anaesthetic. Thanks.

MACS Facelift answer:

Thank you very much for your enquiry. It is possible to have upper eyelid surgery under local anaesthetic, but normally we perform MACS lifts under light general anaesthetic. General anaesthetics now are extremely safe and we only use very experienced consultant anaesthetists.

The reason for performing MACS facelift under general anaesthetic is because generally slightly more extensive surgery can be performed and a better result achieved.

If you are fit and healthy, general anesthetics with experienced anaesthetists have a very low risk rate and in most cases are in fact safer than driving around the M25.

If you would like information about MACS facelift, certainly the next stage would probably be to listen to our free information CD on MACS facelift. Please let us know by emailing mailto:info@aurora-clinics.co.uk if you would be interested in receiving one of these.

Many thanks for your enquiry. We look forward to meeting you in person if you do decide to schedule a consultation.

Best wishes,

Adrian Richards
