Areola reduction surgery aims to make the brown area surrounding the nipple (the areola) smaller. The areola does vary considerably in size, shape and colour between different individuals. It can also change in appearance according to changes like body weight fluctuation and pregnancy. However, particularly enlarged areolas can cause significant embarrassment in both men and women.
